I’m currently part way through volume 7 and can happily say Overlord is my favorite high fantasy series of all time.
Heres a list of a few of my favorite things about the series:
Deep lore and world building
Descriptive yet simple prose
MC and co are morally grey
Fleshed out interesting side characters
Unfortunately it seems that a fair few other isekai LN’s are written in 1st person with sloppy prose and a lobotomized MC. In this respect Overlord is a breath of fresh air.
