A great read at my level in terms of building confidence and challenge. Very kiddy though - it reads almost like a gag manga (or a shitpost) in written form, with near-random developments, constantly repeated jokes and so on. I actually sort of found the full furigana to be a detriment as I realised I wasn't really looking at the kanji as much. Still, there's elements of heart to it beyond just the jokes and it is entertaining to read something more comedic in nature as a beginner.

I'm so torn on how to grade this book. There were multiple laugh out loud parts of the story and I definitely enjoyed the read. While the 5 chapters that are in the book are by no means standalone, there's not a ton of character growth or a plot arc until the last 20 or so pages. It feels a little same-y after about page 100. It's still enjoyable, but definitely same-y. I'd give the high points of the book a 4.5 but the work as a whole something more like a 3.5.
