Easy to Read
This is a children's psychology/help book for kids to understand Alzheimer's, but is written like a regular story and is quite easy to understand.
About 75% is the story written for children (very short sentences and easy vocab) and the last 25% is for adults giving general info about Alzheimer's and explaining ways parents can approach the topic with kids (this is written in paragraph form and a little harder vocab).
The story itself is engaging - its told from the perspective of a young girl who spends a lot of time with her grandmother doing fun things and how she learns/continues to interact with her granny as time progresses. One of the best aspects of this book is that the girl learns how to interpret her granny's 'unusual' and unexpected behaviors from her extended family, and how the parents step up to emotionally support the girl and communicate with her the entire time.
Usually these books are boring because they dance around the issue they're supposed to address or neglect more complex emotions/situations, but this one is fluff-free and actually fun to read.
