(4.39/5)Great First Book for Pre-Beginners
どうぞどうも is a perfect starter's book. It uses only a handful of very basic vocabulary, almost all of which are reinforced by the illustrations. (The only exception would be the days of the week, at the top of the pages, that might not be known immediately to a new learner).
The illustrations are cute and simple. They help to tell a story without being a distraction for learning. The most difficult word in this story would be: いっしょに (Together).
Overall, cute story and would definitely recommend to someone who is afraid to begin immersion and wants to build confidence in Japanese.
Say どうぞ and どうも and you'll get married
This textbook teaches people how to get a partner who they can marry in the span of a week, being polite really goes a far way according to Tadoku!
Wonderful for taking first steps into reading
Reading all Tadoku sorted by level, until I am totally lost. Then in a month I will start back at the L0 volumes and see if I can get any further, and repeat until I can do all 126. This seems like a decent combo of SRS and benchmarking. This volume is enjoyable and perfectly suited for beginning to read (especially if you want to train yourself to manually lookup rather than relying on browser extensions). Very short, featuring brief phrases and days of the week.
One of the cutest Tadoku Story I read!
Lovely story with simple graphics and easy vocabulary. One can also practice the "days of the week" vocab through this story, which was something I loved❤️
Simple Short Picture Book for All Readers
This lovely book is perfect for anyone who is seeking to get a better grasp of reading Hiragana. The story does a wonderful job of keeping everything simple and not overcomplicating the dialogue or overall storytelling. Even the images aid in communicating the story. I also enjoyed the audio portion which allows readers to listen to the pronunciation of words they may still be learning to pronounce in addition to creating a lovely ambiance with simple background effects pertaining to the tale.
so cute!
just adorable. Easy to understand. And the ending is so precious I read the story to my wife who doesn't know Japanese. Did I get a little emotional from a small story with a dew words. Yes, yes I did.
The first book readable by complete beginners.
A 100% beginner can deduce vocabulary in that story and it's cute.
so cute
it was a super cute story! simple vocabs and overall easy to understand for a beginner like me!
It was cute.
It was pretty adorable, and would make a great first read for someone learning Japanese!
An adorable, beginner friendly story!
I’ve been learning hiragana and this is a good story to start seeing the words in action! The story itself is short and adorable, it’s about two characters who meet throughout the week and their interactions. The main phrases どうぞ and どうも are used repeatedly, and we get to see how they can be used in different situations.
Overall, it’s an adorable story and a great way to start your journey into Japanese reading. <3
I love the story, it's so cute and it is really beginner friendly
In just 7 days you can have a boyfriend then get married HAHAHA
Cute and effective!
A simple but cute story to practice dozo & domo!
A good start
It's really a 0 level, a good start for someone who wants to start reading, but knows so little. Because of this you can read in a nice rithym, learn new words (weekdays -曜日)and don't get frustrated. Then u want to read more books.

Many meanings!
Very simple and short story expressing quite the few ways どうぞ and どうも can be used. Very nice! Plus, it's a romance story for those romance genre enjoyers!
