I'm only 1/3rd through, and pausing bc I'm reading 若草物語 rn. So far this is the most simplistic of Yoshiya's books I've read (story and language). Starts with the main character at 4 years old, and she's only now just gotten to 女学校 (middle/high school of the time), and made her first friend. I guess the story will pick up soon. I'll update my review when I come back and finish
