Meno Shiro is sprinting through Kyoto with everything he has — in order to break his promise to his dearest friend! ("Run, Melos") In addition to the title story, four masterpieces of modern Japanese literature are reborn in contemporary Kyoto, each reimagined with an entirely new appeal. Coming-of-age angst has never been this gloriously absurd — or this noble!! A landmark short story collection that reaches the very heights of comedy!

This is a very Morimi Tomihiko book. It reads just like 夜は短し歩けよ乙女, so if you liked that, you'll probably enjoy this as well. There are even a few minor references to it in here that readers of both will appreciate. This one has considerably less supernatural stuff, though.
The structure of the book is a collection of 5 short stories, with some overlapping characters and elements. The stories are adapted into a modern 京都 setting with Morimi's iconic 腐れ大学生 as the characters. My favorite story from this collection was 走れメロス, which was also the only one I had read the original version of before. Seeing the way he twisted the story was really funny, and I want to read all the other original stories now to compare!
