I read this series sometime last year. It was one of my favourite manga until the last volume which I didn't like because the ending was miserable. If you like overly melodramatic romance you'll probably like it. It's set in olden days Australia and England which is nice for a change. As for the language, I found it quite difficult at times, mostly with vocabulary. But if you like this kind of story then it's worth giving it a go I think.
