This is an episodic mystery series in the Showa era in Japan, following a female detective. I'm so charmed by this series. I've gotten so emotionally invested in every single case that I've read so far—even the very first one, which I actually feel so emotional about. I also enjoy the leads, and I'm actually so curious to find out more about what Saku's deal is. After the second case, I found myself going back and rereading the first two cases later that night, just thinking about his character

I like mysteries, period pieces, and works with hints of romance so I knew going in I would love this series, but it exceeded all of my expectations. To me, this is a true hidden gem. Each case is solved in 1-2 chapters which doesn't allow for a lot of mystery depth, but the charm is in the premise of "modern issues framed by the early Showa era" and the characters, not the clues.
