I've only read one of the stories being 'reworked' into a Reiwa context here, and a fair amount of general Ranpo books/stories, so while I can't compare every story in this book to the original, I know the general vibes that we're working with and I think this just doesn't live up to the original. It's basically Ranpo plots with more sex and technology shoe-horned in.
