It first appeared in Bungei [Literary Arts] in 1936. He lived for a year in a villa deep in the mountains. There was a couple who worked as watchmen and a boy who was their nephew. He and the boy played together, gazing at the cherry trees and finding catfish.

4 small stories in about 20 pages. Lots of great imagery despite not using that extensive of vocabulary. Relatively few kanji - I think this may be aimed at a younger audience? Middle school or thereabouts perhaps. All the stories were interesting, but nothing exciting or dramatic. A nice chill read.
