I echo the other comments of 'more enjoyable than you would think'. Protagonist is kind of your traditional over self-critical teenager loser and since you're inside his head most of the time that can get a little annoying, but since it's a relatively light piece you don't tender to linger around. It's definitely most exciting around the middle where a lot of dramatic stuff and twists happen which is fairly fun, but the overall was good enough that I will probably continue reading this series at some point.
There are also a few pages where the protagonist gets caught up and rants about something for like 2-3 pages straight for comedic effect, but you can safely just skip those.

Fun and harmless high school romcom. Great first LN.
Language Learning: This was my very first light novel, coming from ~N3 graded readers. It was challenging at first but in the end N3 grammar was more than enough to get through it and understand pretty much everything. There is also a lot of useful vocabulary for beginners here. I think it was a very good choice for a first LN.
Entertainment: A typical high school romcom with likeable but at the same time very stereotypical characters. The story is nothing extraordinary either, but at least there is a little twist somewhere in the middle. You can expect all the usual "average guy + popular girl"-tropes. However, despite not being very original, I thought it was a rather charming story and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.
