It has puns

This was the first book I read (in German as a native speaker). I'm not sure how interesting adults would find. The protagonist, Herr Taschenbier, is an adult, maybe that counts for something. But I remember it had quite a bit of languages/pun based humor. I think that would be rewarding and fun for language learners.
