finally something exciting
I found this story while scrolling the toplist for LNs on mal. It sounded like an interesting setup for a normal battle fantasy style story. But this isn't really a battle fantasy. It is pretty much a thriller taking place in a common japanese fantasy setting (the one where heroes have to go vanquish the demon lord). And honestly its a pretty good thriller, it has lots of twist and a constant air of tension about it.
