Perfect story
For me, this was first light novel I have read in japanese. I have chosen edition with full furigana, since I am around n4-n3 level. I enjoyed story, I didn't know all the words, but I could follow the story.

Book adds depth to the film, great audiobook
Before picking up the physical copy, I had already watched the film and listened to the Japanese audiobook (fantastic narration by Romi Park, highly recommend it). So I came to this edition knowing the story pretty well.
The full furigana is a plus if the book is slightly above your reading level.
The novel follows the film closely but adds landscape descriptions and more interior monologues, which help understanding the characters on a deeper level
One thing to keep in mind: going in blind, the shifting narration between characters in the first part of the book can be a bit disorienting at first. The audiobook helps a lot here.
For my part, having already experienced the story twice, I found it harder to stay fully engaged, but it was worth reading.
