In some ways, it's a bog-standard fantasy story. Actually, it's mostly just a bog-standard fantasy story - but it's well executed, with some neat narrative twists and it's hard not to sympathise with the characters even when they're doing their blockhead-knights shtick.
One thing I liked a lot is that it doesn't take the easy way out, use the rule-of-cool, engage in fanservice of any description, or generally not do any of the things it says it's going to do. In a lot of scenes, there is probab
