Fourth Wing is a romance/fantasy book set in a military college where students compete with one another (often to the death) to become dragon riders. This book is close to 700 pages long but it didn't feel long at all — it's written in an addictive way with tons of tropes that I enjoy (underdog protagonist, deadly tournaments, enemies-to-lovers).
