Volume 1: "Girls falling for girls? As if that could ever happen!" Marika Sakakibara, a popular high school girl with no shortage of admirers, is caught off guard one day when Aya Fuwa — the cool, beautiful girl in her class — suddenly thrusts a million yen in her face. "I'm buying you for one hundred days at ten thousand yen a day. I'll prove to you whether girls together is really so impossible." "— Huh? Excuse me!?" Can Marika still insist it's "impossible" once those hundred days are up—?

Deeper than expected

Contrary to what I assumed from the cover, this blew way past my expectations, and went in real deep on the character and relationship development. CW for SA though: there is one unambiguously SA scene, that the characters then talk out afterwords.

I particularly really loved getting to see them have a big fight, and work out their issues on the spot, rather than some unnecessary dragged out drama. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of inner monologue, and how effectively it was put to use. Even the way the back stories are integrated felt so organic, and never disrupted the narrative flow - since they weaved in and out of monologue sections - having the past be accompanied by the present

There are some things I could criticize, but they seem minor in comparison. I can't wait to read vol 3!
