Manga that center around the production of music are pretty much always weaker than their anime counterparts, and I don't think this is an exception. Not having the overblown color and lighting effects and not being able to control the dramatic pace of the story timed to music definitely makes it feel like something is missing, but the characters are strong enough to still make this enjoyable coming from watching the show.
It reminds me a little bit of 宇宙よりも遠い場所: four leads who are flawed on their own take turns between doing the supporting and being supported as they work towards their goals. Just, swap out going to Antarctica with some nerds for making internet jpop with an ex-idol, a discouraged illustrator, an oshi obsessed pianist, and a vtuber.
On the language learning side, there's not a lot of stuff you won't encounter in other series here. It has full furigana with lots of high school speak, バイト talk, general 青春感, and a little bit of music/art terminology, so if you've already read stuff in that vein this will be a quick extensive reading pick.
Overall, it was a fine read, but if you have a choice between the manga and the show I'd definitely opt for the show.
