A collection of 9 short stories. This book absolutely hammered me with new vocabulary, which is to be expected from Higashino Keigo and also from any short story collection. Higashino is a crime novelist so there were of course some detective story type twists to a few of the chapters.
I'm tried to think of an overarching theme for the collected short stories and couldn't really find one that fit them all besides a tendency towards "gotcha!" endings. Some were more predictable then others.
