This is a gentle introduction for kids to the idea of differences between people and families, told from the point of view of a cat. Although it says 'LGBT' in the title, and it does touch on gender stereotypes and the fact that same-sex marriage is currently legal in other countries but not Japan, it doesn't get very into the weeds on what being 'LGBT' means, what is gender, who are trans people, etc. The material itself is probably not going to be riveting if you're a younger person who grew u

This book actually has 2 parts. 1 part is the main book and the other part at the end is more information for the adults that are reading the book. The main book is quite easy, aimed at kids to explain the differences in families and relationship dynamics and a little bit about gender identities. The last part of the book is geared towards adults, no furigana, and with more difficult vocabulary.
