I watched the live action movie and thought it was great, but I got the feeling the plot had been heavily condensed to fit into a ~90min movie format so I picked up the manga to check.
Basic plot: Mikado can see ghosts but can't really do anything about them so he just feels scared and awkward and hides his ability. Hiyakawa can exorcise ghosts, but can't really see them well. When he's touching Mikado however he can use his eyes to see. Hiyakawa saying meeting Mikado is fate and asks him to help him in his ghost exorcising business.
I should note that the movie version is gorier and has only light homoerotic tension. The manga is lighter on physical details but very clearly leaning into BL tropes. There is no sex, but there are suggestive scenes.
Also there is plenty of furigana, more than I would expect for the subject matter actually.
EDIT: At this time (2022/Jan) the rating for this manga series is 26 which feels a bit low. Seeing as I was the first person to rate it, perhaps I flubbed somewhere. While there is full furigana, expect lots of casual speech (the detective is especially challenging to follow if you're not familiar with stereotypical cop-speech), extensive vocabulary, and some uncommon grammar in the later volumes.
