(3.50/5)Power-leveling fantasy
I found this read to be pretty mid. It was a webnovel, which shows in the pacing; this volume had very little that actually happened and lots of overly long training scenes described in too much detail. The training scenes could have been a paragraph, and the whole volume could have been a chapter.
I felt that there was also not much going on in the way of characters and development- Nyango develops his powers but he doesn't develop emotionally or really have any arc besides 'I need to level up my powers.' There weren't many named characters, and the scenes with them were generally the same kind of thing over and over again, so again, the whole thing didn't need to be so many words and could have been edited down into the first chapters of a pretty good book.
I think I would have been fine with this book if my reading level was higher so I could read it very quickly within a few days, and then forget about it. It was much too samey to be trudging through at a beginner's pace for weeks and weeks.

Cons:
All in all, not perfect, but pretty fun!
shitsurei mentioned on the forums that something somewhere between the manga (only the best bits) and the LN (much more detail, but sometimes too much) would be perfect, and I agree.
I still like the manga a little bit more, but since it releases so slowly (2 manga volumes = 1 LN volume - and we only have 2 manga volumes out right now) I'll have to get my Nyango fix from the next volumes at some point.
