A list of BL mangas/novels that I enjoyed reading and would generally recommend. My taste may seem probably a bit bland to some, I mostly enjoy stories that are just slice-of-life fluff with a cute couple.

Language-wise, most of the mangas should fit into the "Intermediate" bracket (20-26), and the novels into the "Upper Intermediate" bracket (27-33).

I will be rating the following aspects: Story | Characters | Artstyle | Fluff Level | Spice Level | Themes/Tropes

I'm not really good at writing reviews so I hope you'll forgive me for that 😳

Two college students who also happen to live next door. One evening, Nagi drags his drunk senior Yuu home, but isn't let go from his sleepy grasp. So he spends the night and slips away unnoticed in the morning, an occurrence which happens to repeat...

  • Story 2/5 | not a lot happens really, I didn't read it for the plot but for them being cute
  • Characters 5/5 | very sweet and lovely, super green-flagged characters
  • Artstyle 4/5 | simple but really cute expressions
  • Fluff Level 10/5 | so many cute moments 🥺🥺🥺
  • Spice Level 2/5, | if you count the subsequent volumes, there are just few scenes which are not too explicit and rather wholesome
  • Themes/Tropes | college, SoL-ish, kouhai/senpai relationship, sleeping together (cutely), wholesome fluff, characters being madly in love with each other, supportive families and friends

Light novel
Level 30
  • Story 4/5 | I like it a lot, but I admit that the first part from Hira's POV dragged a bit, Kiyoi's POV was chef's kiss
  • Characters 5/5 | truly unique characters who are super messed up but somehow make sense together
  • Artstyle 2/5 | (manga adaption) I didn't really dig it
  • Fluff Level 1/5 | not exactly what you'll call a wholesome coupling but they have their cute moments
  • Spice Level 4/5
  • Themes/Tropes | highschool/college, bullying, stalking/unhealthy obsession, main char is probably autistic, main lead is a tsundere, photography, acting industry, it does sound like a bully-victim plot but I promise it isn't, split into 2 POV parts
