(4/5)Thought this was a really great format for this arc. Basically like a 3 hr long episode! I thought the story composition was really interesting - didn't have the typical "it's an anime movie" feel to me. There was a solid amount of backstory for some characters we really haven't gotten it for so far, which was great.
That said, it will probably feature your favorite & least favorite things about the series' storytelling approach in general. If you haven't seen the previous season, I would at least watch the final 1-2 eps. They give you some flashback in the beginning, but not enough.
Language-wise, it felt maybe a bit harder than previous seasons, in certain spots... But I can't say for sure it actually is. Assuming it is harder, it's not a huge leap - tho, at least in theaters, the soundtrack sometimes overwhelmed the dialogue

I feel like by now the demon slayer formula is really worn out
Writing this review after watching it in Japanese theaters without subs. I have bittersweet feelings towards this movie. On the good side, like the previous movies and anime episodes, the visuals are gorgeous, with really high-level animation and interesting fights. But that's all there is to point here. Feels like since Kanjiro defeated the first lower moon, the story has been repeating itself over and over. It's always like this: Kanjiro finds this Upper Moon that is super strong, he fights bravely, unlocks new powers, then we have a big flashback of the villain humanizing him in their last moments, and then Kanjiro and his ally achieve victory with the power of friendship. I saw this so many times in the same series that I'm not surprised anymore. There was a small peculiarity regarding the death of someone that I won't spoil here. By now, I still watch this show mostly because the fights look good, and I've already invested many hours in it. For language learning, the parts that are more dialogue-intensive, I felt it was a bit more difficult than I'm used to (also watched without subs), but since most of the movie is mostly just fights, I don't think this is a great learning resource anyway.
