(4.20/5)Good plot, unpleasant execution
If you like excessive, ungrounded surrealism & convoluted plot, you'll love this. I prefer surrealism when it's grounded against something (the original anime did this excellently - containing it to combat, and distortions from the 魔女). Personally I couldn't help but compare this to Utena (for its use of surrealism) & CLAMP (for their often convoluted plot reveals), and felt this came up short in comparison to both. More importantly, I just didn't enjoy watching a lot of it. That said, I like where it went in the end, and do plan to watch Walpurgisnacht, when it's released.
As language goes, I think this is slightly harder than the main series (though jpdb disagrees with me). More specifically - the parts of the main series that are challenging are present here, in a higher concentration than in the main series. So combined with the presentation, I found it a bit harder to follow at times.

An absolute must watch
This film was surely amazing! I won't go into detail, I will just say that if you already watched the madoka anime, go and watch this inmediately!!
Language learning wise, the film felt like, easier than the anime actually, even though this is, at least currently, a lvl 30 and the anime is rated lvl 29, so idk if that's because when watching this film I was mor familiarized with the vocabulary used or with the way characters speak or something.
Also, I found quite a lot of useful vocabulary to mine in this film, like in the anime.
