This is a very subjective review.
The story was great, amazing visuals, I loved the roadtrip element and seeing different parts of Japan.
However, the romance plot pretty much ruined it for me. I read afterwards that the romance plot was forced in, and I really wish they hadn't, it wouldn't have watered down the actual (good!) plot. It felt very forced and unnatural (plus a kinda icky age gap). To the point that I had problems finishing the movie (even though the rest was fine! *Ah I'm so m

Another great Makoto Shinkai movie
I particularly loved the road trip aspect of this movie, and watching it after moving to Kobe, I was particularly amazed to see those places animated so beautifully. This movie is also a great chance to hear some of Japan's most common dialects.
