No idea how this compares to the manga (I imagine it's condensing things, given the movie format), but this first movie was sooooooo much nicer than S4 of the 90s anime, in like every way possible. Everything just makes way more sense and is soooooooo much less creepy. (Tho I did really enjoy the Amazon Quartet's slice of life eps in the 90s). Definitely enjoying, and looking forward to the 2nd half.
