Not much fun to look at but a great companion to kanji.

I found this handy textbook at a HPB for $12. I would say it has served me well enough for that price. I would not pay the full Amazon price but that's just me.

The book shows:

  • the stroke order of each kanji in the book, separated by stroke count

  • radicals in the back of the book

  • readings of kanji but they are in romaji

  • the definitions of kanji

  • combinations with other kanji and those meanings

You won't really learn anything from simply reading this book. And you could always use an online dictionary...but something about searching for the unknown using a book helps it stick better.
