Fresh vibe with oddly specific rants and debates
Really unique series - with an established relationship between an otaku and a gyaru character. They're both very interesting and a bit unpredictable. There is some plot, but mostly it's episodic, slice of life. The two leads have to go around sorting out various clubs' problems. Most of the side characters you meet are just there for their respective chapters, but there's one really hilarious recurring one, who's always getting involved in sketchy business. Aesthetically, it's edgy (in a good sense) in a way that reminds me of 気になってる人が男じゃない - tho no green in this one 😂
What really sets the series apart is its focus on サブカル (subculture... but in a sorta abstract sense). A lot of the rants or debates are very reminiscent of the way people got philosophical (or started bs'ing) about things, when I was in high school. Sometimes they'll be about oddly specific topics like specific types of music, the history and monetary value of Air Jordans, the nature of sales and social media, photography theory, musicians vs DJs, idol culture, music history, etc.
Some of it is straightforward to understand, and some of the stuff about subculture, counterculture, etc, linguistically abstract, and thus tricky to understand. So it's good if you wanna pick up randomly specific vocabulary.
