A soft ~healing fantasy novel about finding comfort and happiness. Only 217 pages on my e-reader so quite light but with an interesting premise and characters.
The book opens with Yumi, a 27 year old who has been job hunting since she left university with no success and whose prospects at this stage are starting to look dire. Cut off from her family, struggling in her relationship and working in a convenience store to support herself she feels like her chance in life has slipped away.
Receiving an invite for a complimentary stay in a hotel she thinks it's a scam but decides to check it out anyway. The hotel turns out to be much more than it seems.
The book focuses on the staff who work in the hotel and a small selection of guests who come to stay. With generally very approachable vocab and writing and the inherent repetition of life in a hotel this is generally quite easy as fantasy novels go for learners.
It's a little cheesy at times the way healing novels often are but if you like the genre that won't bother you and the mystery of the hotel and it's bizarre manager are quite fun.
There is one specific plot hole that really bugged me but it's an insigificant detail and i think only people who live in a particular city would ever spot it so i don't even really want to include it in the review.
