The portrayal of emotional codependency and loneliness, using the marine animals, is just so incredible. And seeing the way everything/everyone is growing and changing, despite that, is really great.
If I'm being honest, I don't entirely understand the progression of how they started growing apart. The author creates the effect via time skip and not showing them together at club every single day... But I find it kind of hard to swallow that they both suddenly became this bad at communicating with each other, for such a prolonged period of time.
