a good graded reader

It might just be the fate of most graded readers that they are a bit boring, especially at the beginning because you are limited to certain topics. It is a useful book with reading passages, audio, and comprehension questions. It teaches you useful vocabulary for TOPIK level 2 and also some specific vocabulary about specific daily situations in Korea, like at the doctor or a restaurant.

Why it didn't manage to keep me engaged might be because it was below my level once I got through half of the book. I like it when my learning materials are a bit challenging and that stopped being the case when I got to a high-beginner level. If you don't do well with challenge and rather have materials that suit your level completely, I think this is a great book for you.

Overall, I recommend this book for beginners who wants to reach a TOPIK level 2 or who want a reading textbook to accompany their grammar and vocabulary studies.

(The books further in this series are also great and in my opinion, even better.)
