To me this was an engaging and enjoyable read that shows how much potential the JoJo universe has for all kinds of different storytelling. In contrast to some of the more grandiose stories that play out in this series, this story fits very well into the Diamond is Unbreakable small town Morioh vibe. The stakes aren't huge and the villain doesn't threaten to take over the world. Instead we get a very personal story involving some characters we already know from Diamond is Unbreakable, and some new characters. The book is very much focused on those new characters, and manages to embed itself convincingly into the Bizarre Adventure universe.
It's probably not a masterpiece, but it's worth reading if you enjoy this kind of story and have watched or read Diamond is Unbreakable.
