This is a collection of short biographies of Nobel prize winners. If you’re familiar with the short biographies in the 10分で読める伝記 series, these are similar stories at a higher difficulty level. If you’ve enjoyed the higher levels of those books and want something that’s more challenging, I think this is a good next step. It’s a normal-sized children’s paperback, in a medium font size instead of extra-large, and it has more kanji (with full furigana). Although the stories are only about 12 pages each, they’re denser and longer than the 10分 stories. It’s still written to be direct, with clear explanations that children can understand, but the sentences are more complex and use a broader range of vocabulary with more specific/detailed words. It starts with a introduction to Alfred Nobel and the creation of the prize, and the biographies feature winners from various disciplines, including chemistry, physics, literature, and peace.
