Not Your Typical BL Story
One day, Asahi finds out that his girlfriend, Kanako, is actually married and breaks up with her, prompting Kanako to commit suicide right in front of him. Shortly after, her husband, Kiyose, starts coming over to his house because he claims he has no one else to talk to about Kanako. Then, he doesn't stop coming, making it his own personal mission to harass Asahi every day. A tumultuous and toxic relationship between two men who are physically and mentally broken ensues in the ultimate enemies-to-lovers story.
This was a fun, fast-paced popcorn read with great pacing and a super whacky plot that had me shocked by the pure audacity -- and I'm a fan of crazy books, so that means something coming from me. There is a lot of physical violence between the two characters that got hard to read (which I really should have expected based on the cover, but hindsight is 20/20), and Asahi and Kiyose are walking red flags, but despite it all, their relationship blossomed quite heartwarmingly by the end of the story. The author's writing style was unique, especially for the genre, as she didn't use punctuation marks for the dialogue, but that made it easier to get immersed in the story. In general, it was very colloquial and not a super challenging read. If the synopsis intrigues you, give it a shot!
