Just as the title indicates, this book is about proper table manners - the focus is, of course, mostly on Japan and 和食, though it also has a smaller section on Western table manners and mentions of how manners are different in countries like China or Korea. I did find myself wondering how important some of the directions were for everyday meals, especially since in the Western portion, it was definitely saying a few things that I don't think your average person ever thinks about at a day-to-day meal, like how exactly you should put your cutlery on the plate when you're done. A lot of it really just boils down to not かけるing any めいわく to other people.
While it it's not a difficult book, I would say it is slightly harder than it might look because it is dense in text and uses a lot of 'home' vocabulary that you may not have learned in a textbook. Some kanji is used with partial furigana.
The art is very nice and the animal characters used to illustrate manners were adorable. That was my favorite part of the book.
