In this novel, Shinichi Kudou appears as himself in order to be able to take part in his class's school trip to Kyoto. However, he has to take an antidote again and again and, of course, there is a series of murders to be solved... In addition, he is still waiting for an answer from Ran, whether she will return his feelings.

Again, the dialog in this novel was easy to follow, but the descriptions of the crime scenes and tricks used was very difficult. This was complicated further, because there is dialect from Osaka and Kyouto in this book. I learned many things about common expressions in Osaka! I really like 服部平治 but he is hard to understand for me...
