As a note, I listened to the audiobook and do not own the text.
This felt very much like a light novel, so if you prefer those over regular novels I'd recommend it. The general plot is a dream research team at a university is investigating deaths associated with nightmares.
The difficulty in this book is largely the stretch of the vocabulary, but also a bit of dialectical speech and fluctuating registers of speech (very casual up to business formal). I personally found the dialect dialogue very difficult to follow, but it's possible that if you're reading rather than listening it may be easier.
