I was drawn to this series by two things: the adorable ゆめかわ palette/style, and that it was on a list of easy anime for beginners. It delivered on one of those things: it is a visual feast, but the amount of fantasy vocab and strange situations made it difficult to understand.
A fairytale/fantasy parody, where the princess isn't a damsel in distress waiting for the hero, but a sassy, even sadistic, protagonist who's not afraid of terrorising her captors to get what she wants, until she and said captors warm to each other and form an unlikely alliance against greater threats.
Despite my understanding of the dialogue being lacking, it was so visually charming and full of sight-gags that I still throughly enjoyed it.
