This was a really hard volume to read, but absolutely a step up from the previous two. Kanoko gets some much needed growth, though not without more suffering, as she continues to grapple with the reality of her relationships with Sumika and Hime, and her desire to maintain the status quo (something she finally accepts is impossible). I really felt bad for Kanoko while she was struggling through this, especially after the last two volumes, but I also think Sumika made the right decision, breaking up with her, and I'm rather ambivalent about the final chapter.
