Great adaption of the book
I really enjoyed reading the source material, and I really enjoyed watching the adaption of it as well. Almost everything was faithful as far as I remember, with the major exception being how things play out at the very end. No spoilers here, though for those who've read the book and want a hint: the same destination, just a different pathway there. Personally I appreciated the change; it fixed my major sticking point with the book.
Seven college kids are invited to stay on a remote island for a week, only to be confronted with a mysterious killer. Meanwhile, on the mainland, a friend of theirs receives a mysterious letter from a man thought long-dead, declaring vengeance for the death of his daughter.
This show was quite far above my listening level to be able to enjoy easily, unfortunately, but subtitles helped quite a bit. As far as I could tell most of it was normal speaking Japanese, though one character in particular (島田) spoke quite fast, imo.
Recommended for those looking for a good murder mystery!
