This series adapts the parts of the manga that were left out by ホリミヤ S1 | L22. It's a very well-done and faithful adaptation, which means it has all the pros and (unfortunately) cons of those sections/volumes. The pros being that you get a lot of wonderful character development and hilarious moments with the side characters, the cons being that there are some moments that drag, and you see the story make light of the more toxic parts of Hori & Miyamura's relationship, including basically laughing off Hori's domestic abuse and violence (I don't mean the usual anime tsundere stuff). That's really the fault of the source material though, and it's a large part of what's held me back from finishing the manga, even though I'm on the second to last volume. Thankfully, it's not the majority of the story.
Overall I liked most of the season, and the ending was sweet, but I feel very conflicted about recommending it.
