It was really good, I think this would be a safe choice for a first ~N2 novel, easy vocabulary all over the book, the grammar isn't too hard either, it was already mentioned but the readings are repeated quite often for less common words which is appreciated.
The story line is quite easy and the sub chapters if you can call them this way are rather short and although it follows the same plot line throughout the book it almost feels like a collection of short stories, which could be a plus for those that can't read long plot lines yet, so I'd say it really is beginner friendly.
Overall I think this could be the go-to book for those that already read some novels in the past and are looking for harder novels to get started with the L30+ range.
