Starts off really unrealistically (which seems par for the course for this genre), and gradually improves. While the teacher (and the fact that they're still employed, and nobody is raising eyebrows) is totally unbelievable, it's the perspective of the student that makes the series interesting.
Anyway if you already like the genre, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're on the fence, it's on the tamer side for this sort of thing, and the student's crush is portrayed semi-realistically (or at least better than most other iterations I've come across). Volume 2 improves a bit from volume 1.
