I would recommend this for learners, especially those with a shorter attention span or limited pockets of reading. Rather than going through with a whole novel with a continuous story, this book offers short reads (diary entries) each with a slice of everyday life. The language used is extremely transferable to day-to-day usage with daily-use vocab throughout, e.g. supermarket, riding a bicycle, playing games, going to the onsen, traveling, etc,.
Surprised not many people recommend this classic piece yet. (;
Good for short reads with everyday language
