A lot of this volume takes place in the 現代, and you see where Inuyasha's relationship with Kagome can be a bit toxic (she literally has to fight with him, so she can go home, and then he later tries to drag her back and she has to force him down the well (not to mention he just takes one of her textbooks)), but also sweet (he's anxiously waiting by the well for her, and thus is able to come to her and Souta's rescue, despite his hurt/upset feelings.). The story doesn't really sweep the behavior under the carpet either. Besides that we get to see Kagome's struggles with maintaining her life in both worlds/eras, and also her quick thinking and braveness, despite her being a relatively powerless 15 year old.
This is the first volume with some differences to the anime - nothing ground breaking. In the anime, the 現代 setting is filled out a bit more, and Shippou was introduced prior to the 能面 (noh mask) story. The noh mask story itself is more compact and (imo) impactful in the manga - but both versions are good.
Btw, look up the character names in the last chapter - they all mean/refer to something specific.
