Rich high school girls betting crazy amount of money on rigged gambling games
As someone who isn’t a fan of card games, I didn’t expect a gambling-themed show to hold my interest. I’m not entirely sure why it did, but I think it’s a mix of the striking animation (those scary face close-ups sure are something lol), the high stakes, and the intense emotional reactions. The tension was built up so well that I found myself on the edge of my seat—even when all they were doing was flipping a simple playing card.
Another aspect that kept things engaging was that the games weren’t purely based on luck; they were always rigged in some way. This gave the show a mystery-like feel, where you could try to figure out the trick alongside Yumeko and anticipate how she would turn the situation to her advantage. Because of this, the series often features lengthy monologues explaining the rules and the characters’ elaborate strategies, which can sometimes be difficult to follow.
Originally, I started watching the show for keigo practice, but I soon realized that the hardest part was actually understanding the game mechanics and how Yumeko managed to outmaneuver, or failed to outmaneuver, her opponents.
