This follows the pretty standard kids book plot of child encounters supernatural thing and then for plot reasons it becomes part of everyday life. It might have a bit more interest than an average kids book in that there's a small bit of Japanese folklore characters woven into the story. The audiobook was well done with multiple voice actors.
