Short and sweet overview of grammar

This book is dedicated to basic grammar, covering quite a bit from the basic ~は~です structure to creating relative clauses (so something like N5 and N4 level grammar points); each grammar point is given at least a paragraph, sometimes multiple, to explain the formation and function of the grammar. Something like 3-5 sentences are then given as examples, followed by a small selection of vocabulary and three "say the following in Japanese" practice sentences (these sentences always use the vocabulary just introduced), which are immediately followed by their answers.

This book is definitely intended more as a reference/companion text to your regular Japanese textbook; while it covers a lot of material, it moves fairly quickly and has a comparative lack of examples and practice questions for the amount of material it covers. Nevertheless, I thought it was a nice reference book for checking something you've already learned but needed a refresher on.
