Not an easy read for sure, I cried a lot at this one. A very gentle sweet novel about a woman dying of cancer who chooses to spend the rest of the time she has left at a hospice called Lion House on a beautiful quiet island full of lemon groves.
The language was generally very straightforward and high frequency as it mostly discussed people's lifetime memories as well as the main character's activites as she enjoyed the island and the people she met there. If the theme sounds like your cup of tea it's definitely a good pick for learners.
Obviously you know from the outset where the story is going but the character development was very well explored and the author strove to give the reader a thoughtful and (although naturally a bit sad) overall warm sweet story. It got quite sentimental at the very end, but it was healing at the same time so I enjoyed it.
